There are four main classifications of management of disease in Ayurveda: shodan, or cleansing; shaman or palliation; rasayana, or rejuvenation; and satvajaya, or mental hygiene.
Along with medicine, proper diet, exercise and lifestyle is advised. This is very important, If we are taking a medicine to remove the root cause and at the same time we are eating food which may increase the cause of disease, then we will not get well and will get less relief.
In Sanskrit the daily routine is called the Dinacharya. Ayurveda recommends that in order to be optimally healthy we should tune our bodies to the nature’s master cycle, which in turn regulates the various other rhythms.

From the Ayurveda, this treatment offers one of the most divine and tranquil experiences available!
Ayurveda, the science for living a healthy and balanced life was developed and perfected in India thousands of years ago. It has been almost unknown in the west. It contains knowledge that has immense value and benefit to all the inhabitants of this planet.
Shirodhara is a treatment given during the Ayurvedic rejuvenation process called Panchakarma. Shiro means the “head” and dhara means the “constant flow”. The treatment is a constant flow of warm herbal oil on the forehead poured from a copper container about 8-12 inches above the head. It is sometimes rhythmically moving across the forehead and sometimes still. The oil is continuously flowing allowing it to run through the hair and the scalp. Shirodhara quiets the mind and the senses which allow the body’s natural healing system to release stress from the nervous system.
Shirodhara is usually given for 20-30 minutes for 3 to 8 days in a row. The oils used are infused with special herbs that subtly transfer their healing qualities to the patient. The oils that are best for Shirodhara are Ksirabala tailam and Dhanvantaram tailam. These oils quickly support and balance Vata vayu, open the Prana shrotas channel and calm and nourish the nervous system.

People have been arguing for years on who is the best rapper. You’ve probably seen the top 5 or top 10 rapper list all over the place. What people first need to understand is what is a rapper? A rapper doesn’t have to be the best lyricist, or the one with the best rhymes or flow, but overall the impact they have on the industry and music listeners everywhere.
I think it’s how much influence you’ve had on the greatest number of people. Simple as that. So how do you know how much someone has influenced someone? You must look at various different factors to come up with an answer. The production, the lyrics and the style of rap also known as the ‘flow’. Most importantly, it’s the human connection which is the struggle they went through to accomplish their goals. Which is bringing their product or music to you and I. When you start thinking about all those things, than you begin to realize that their are only a handful of rappers out there who fit the bill.
I can only think of these four right now. Tupac Shakur, Master P, P Diddy, 50 Cent and Eminem. Tupac is on the top of this list because he has had the most impact in all of those things. Lyrically, style and music. In fact, 10 years after his death, his music is still raking in millions. Now that is some great music. Master P because he brought the ‘independence’ to the average hip hop artist. Keep in mind that Master P was selling records when the internet wasn’t even around and he is one of the most successful rappers of all time. Plus he was the first to put the dirty south on the map.

For children, Halloween is a magical time because they get to take what may be their favorite pastime of fantasy and turn it into an all-day event. What comes before the Halloween night is just as much fun as trick-or-treating itself. For children who would like to be scary creatures, this is one time when they can be encouraged to do so. You might not know that research has shown that children who pretend to be the scariest of Halloween creatures are far less likely to be afraid of imaginary monsters they encounter. So find that perfect Halloween costume for your child and start the night off with a magical tone.
Boys and girls running the streets for two hours decked out in their scariest and grossest of kids Halloween costumes is what makes Halloween exciting and fun. Allowing children to be children is what makes Halloween especially rewarding for parents. Nothing scares me more than a child dressed up as an adult the other 364 days of the year. Kid’s Halloween costumes give kids a chance to break free from their stress and pretend to be anyone they wish.
Although Halloween has its detractors, it is truly meant to be a magical night that gives children a chance to engage in fantasy and realize that things are not always as they seem. For example letting your child dress up as Frankenstein, you are giving him (or her) the chance to confront those common childhood fears. Through this type of dress up, children can see that these types of monsters are, indeed, fantasy, and nothing to be afraid of.

Are you one of those people who suddenly come down with a cold and cough when winter changes to spring? I will share some information from the ancient teachings of the Ayurveda that will help you to support and nurture yourself during seasonal changes and other times when the body may become stressed. The Ayurveda says that most diseases are born during the changing of the seasons.
Although very subtle, the earth’s energies are shifting in the early spring as the sun makes it way up the northern hemisphere. The sun’s warmth begins heating the air and the earth. The cool and damp nature of the winter season has past. The winter is influenced by the kapha dosha, one of the 3 biological forces of nature or doshas, according to the Science of Ayurveda.
The three doshas are kapha, pitta and vata or in a simplified understanding, kapha is the biological combination of water and earth, pitta is fire and water and vata is air and ether. The 3 doshas govern all biological and psychological processes of our body, mind and consciousness. They also govern the actions of the material world including the seasons, times of day and different geographical environments.

Let’s face it; life could get a bit hairy if Jr. or little Suzy was allowed to dress themselves every day. It takes practice to understand that “pants ARE important,” or “one-armed monsters are not allowed at the dinner table.” But on Halloween . . . a kid can truly be a kid. This does not mean that a kids Halloween costumes need to be obscene. There are many children’s Halloween costumes that are “just scary enough.” Just the option of choosing their very own costume will be exciting to Johnny or Suzy.
Although Halloween has its detractors, it is truly meant to be a magical night that gives children a chance to engage in fantasy and realize that things are not always as they seem. You simply enjoy the aromas and how it makes your palette feel. Cigarettes on the other hand are nothing short of an addiction.
